Interclub 2010-11

This season the Club entered 7 teams which included 1 Mixed Team.

An outstanding season was had with three of our teams winning the Championship Round:

KU2 (Pip Witkowski) won Grade 3

KU4 (Jo Botica) won Grade 4

KU5 (Liz Howe) won Grade 5

We also had a 2nd place in Grade 2 (KU1 Glenda Van Drimmelen-Craven)

Pip Groom, KU1, Grade 2, scored 100% in the Championship Round by winning all of her 6 matches, that is, 18 sets out of 18. This was a great achievement.

In the Post Championship Round, teams continued their good play. Although no teams won their grades in the second half of the competition, there were some excellent results:

KU2 (Pip Witkowski) finishing 2nd in Grade 2/3

KU3 (Caroline O’Fallon) finishing 2nd in Grade 3/4

KU4 (Jo Botica) finishing 3rd= also in Grade 3/4

KU6 (Alison Phua) finishing 2nd in Grade 5/6.

A special note: KU2 team won Grade 3 then came 2nd in Grade 2/3 – This means the team has won another Grade 2  grading for the club for next season. Well done KU2!

Perhaps the most exciting news this season is the club winning the Barbara Hogan Memorial Trophy. It was 10 years ago when we last won in 2000/01 and we were very close on 3 other occasions – 1999/2000, 2007/08 and last season, 2009/10 – all finishing in 2nd place.
